Dr. Tanis Whyte - Veterinarian

Dr. Whyte graduated magna cum laude from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Chemistry and a minor in Biology in 1992. During that time, she was also elected to the Dean's list of Academic Distinction.

Dr. Whyte later graduated with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 1997, where she also received the "Award of the Auxiliary" to the AVMA (a scholarship nominated by her peers, based on the advancement and prestige of the College of Veterinary Medicine on the ISU campus). Dr. Whyte further received the Dr. Margaret W. Sloss Memorial scholarship, which she was awarded for outstanding scholarship and contribution to the College of Veterinary Medicine and its students.

In her past, she spent four years at VCA Coast Animal Hospital and Cancer Center in Los Angeles, five years as an emergency clinician at Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists; and has several years participating in the rehabilitation of injured sea turtles at Gumbo Limbo.

Dr. Whyte is the dedicated vet for a non-profit dog rescue, Happy Tails Dog Rescue, located in Boynton Beach. She actively participates in the rescue and vetting of dogs scheduled for euthanasia and helps rehabilitate them so they can be adopted into forever homes.
